The Hart House project invited a challenge of creating a more open floor plan, along with a new kitchen and study layout while respectfully allocating budget in ways that made the most sense for this homeowner. The removal of the wall between dining and living creates a spacious living area perfect for entertaining and maintaining site lines for little ones playing. The enclosure of the study off of the dining room creates a perfect home office for working remotely. The kitchen design merges custom with prefabricated cabinets. We were able to achieve this design with a custom vent hood and custom stained island, while pairing with prefabricated cabinets along the walls. This mixture of custom and prefabricated elements allowed us to get a gorgeous and custom look while respecting the budget. The utility room received new prefab cabinets for more efficient storage than the existing reach-in pantry, along with a beautiful countertop to house the washer and dryer and a plentiful drying rack for clothes.
