What began as storm-related repairs following a devastating derecho became an opportunity to thoughtfully enhance and elevate this family's home. After a large tree limb damaged the left side of the property, Home Girls partnered with the homeowners again to reimagine several underutilized spaces, creating rooms that are both highly functional and rich in character.
The home office underwent a dramatic transformation with the removal of a large, imposing fireplace that previously limited the room's potential. In its place, custom iron doors were installed, bringing in light, improving flow, and creating a striking architectural focal point.
A new pool bath was added with direct outdoor access, designed to serve guests while making a memorable design statement. A floating farmhouse-style sink and custom tile installation introduce texture, craftsmanship, and personality, turning a practical space into one of the home's most distinctive features.
The primary fireplace was completely reimagined with a stone surround and custom arched built-ins, creating a timeless centerpiece that feels both refined and inviting. Upstairs, bespoke bookshelves were designed to celebrate the family's love of reading while anchoring a comfortable retreat for movie nights, gathering with friends, and everyday living.
Even the home's drop zone was thoughtfully considered. An overlooked niche was transformed into custom wine storage, providing a beautiful display for a collection of cherished bottles and meaningful memories gathered over the years.
Through intentional design and craftsmanship, each space was transformed to better reflect the way this family lives—proving that even unexpected challenges can lead to beautiful new beginnings.
